UEMS Section of Nephrology

UEMS
Section of Nephrology

The European union of medical specialists (UEMS) is a non-governmental organisation representing national associations of medical specialists in the European Union and in associated countries.

Examination

The ESENeph is a high quality examination, which aims to drive standards and promote the harmonisation of nephrology training across the European union. Delivered every 9 months through an online portal, the examination is widely accessible across Europe and beyond.

Collaborations

The UEMS Section of Nephrology projects and activities are the product of the hard work of our volunteer members, and collaborations with other medical organisations.

Events

The Renal Section holds two in-person meetings annually; a Winter/Spring meeting in early February, which is generally held at the Domus Medica Europeae in Brussels, and a Summer meeting to coincide with the European Renal Association’s annual scientific meeting. Two delegates from each national nominating body can participate at these meetings. Our next meeting two meetings take place in Brussels in February 2026  and in Rotterdam in June 2027 with exact dates to be confirmed.

The ESENeph is delivered every nine months via an on-line platform. See the table for key dates for the next examinations below.
